Wildflowers

Over the Summer our male neighbors talked a lot about Wildflowers. It seemed that it was the place to go for the men on our street to relax and get away from their controlling, strong wives. When they met Fred they thought he would be a perfect candidate...hmmmm....

We were intrigued because if we take a walk through our backyard/woods we would end up at Wildflowers. Never mind the deer, ticks, brush or stream and it would take about 10 minutes or less to walk there.

Tonight was finally our night to try out Wildflowers. Our friends, the Andreskis, invited us there for dinner. I think they got tired of us making fun of the place. Fred and I were pleasantly surprised. It is a great divey restaurant with good food and a great beer selection. It has a bar in the middle which was buzzing. And, it's kid friendly.

So, maybe forging a path in the back yard is not such a bad idea! I think it's so neat to have a local place to go eat and drink and then we have the luxury of stumbling home if need be!

A New Year

It is now 2009. We have lived in New Jersey for half a year. It is still hard to believe that time has gone by so fast.

We had a great time in December. The month started with a cooking club – Greek style and a holiday party for Fred’s company. We celebrated two more times with neighborhood holiday parties on the 20th and 24th. We love the street we live on and feel fortunate to have met so many kind neighbors. I hosted a cookie exchange with my friends. It was a delicious way to share cookies and the holiday spirit. On Christmas we had a quiet time at home which was wonderful. We spent 3 hours unwrapping gifts. We ate yummy food like eggs benedict for brunch and duck with orange sauce for dinner. The girls loved all of their gifts and still cannot pick a favorite. There are too many! Finally, my mom came the 28th and just recently left. We had fun exploring Amish markets and the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia. My mom babysat for us on New Year's Eve and Fred and I shared an evening in Princeton to celebrate our seven years together.

Now we face a New Year full of exciting things! I will enroll both girls in preschool for next Fall. I am turning 29 again and Chloe is turning 2 soon! I will keep you posted on our fun times in ’09!
